Lainey @ CREATE
CREATE is an annual showcase of the best of Irish design held in Ireland’s leading department store Brown Thomas in the summer months. In 2017 it marked Lainey Keogh’s 60th birthday by making her collection the centrepiece of the event.
For a homespun knitter who began in a small room nearby off Grafton Street in Dublin in the late 80s and grew to become an international star, it was an emotional homecoming.
Standout items in this collection in which she worked for the first time in a pale palette included the Blonde Blanket, a soft white embroidered cocoon style coat and a Mongolian “Tiger” coat. Complementary shades of cherry blossom pink, blush tones and neutral shades extended to sweaters, scarves, beanies and even socks.
Brighter tones can be difficult, alpine pastels are incredibly glamourous. Older women glide gracefully into the pale palette and it is great with our skin and incredibly luxurious.
